BitapSocial Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

BitapSocial (“Application”) is a mobile platform for book sharing, commenting, liking, and other social interactions. By downloading and using the Application, each user (“User”) acknowledges, understands, and agrees to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (“Agreement”). Users who do not accept these terms should not use the Application.

1. Registration & Login

• Users may only log in via Apple ID or Google account.
• Users provide full name and email address during registration.
• In the future, users may be asked to provide optional information such as age or location.
• Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
• The Application is available only to users aged 13 and above.

2. User Content & Responsibility

• Users are solely responsible for all content they create, including book entries, comments, and likes.
• Profanity, threats, harassment, illegal content, or content infringing third-party rights is strictly prohibited.
• Users acknowledge that they are legally responsible for their content.
• BitapSocial is not obligated to monitor content continuously but may remove or restrict content at its discretion, including in response to complaints or legal requests.
• By submitting content, Users grant BitapSocial a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, distribute, modify, or remove such content as necessary for the operation of the Application.

3. Moderation & Filtering

• Comments are currently subject to manual review.
• BitapSocial may implement automatic profanity filters and other moderation tools in the future.

4. Log Records & Security

BitapSocial may, if deemed necessary, collect and store log records such as IP addresses, device details, and access times for purposes of security, system maintenance, prevention of misuse, and legal compliance. At present, such logs may not be regularly stored; however, by using the Application, Users acknowledge and accept that log collection may be implemented in the future. Log records may continue to be retained even after account deletion, where required by law. Log records are used solely for security, service improvement, and lawful requests by competent authorities. They are never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

Retention Periods

• In Turkey, log records are retained for a minimum of 2 years, in compliance with Law No. 5651.
• In the European Union, log records are retained only for as long as necessary under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), typically 6 months to 2 years.
• In other jurisdictions, log records are retained in accordance with the applicable local legal requirements.
• Where no specific legal requirement applies, BitapSocial may retain logs for up to 2 years to ensure security and service integrity.

5. Personal Data Processing & Sharing

• User data will be processed only for the purposes defined in this Agreement.
• BitapSocial does not sell or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
• User data may be disclosed to law enforcement, courts, or public authorities when legally required.
• Users consent to their data being processed on servers located within or outside their home country, including jurisdictions outside the European Union.
• BitapSocial may use aggregated and anonymized data for analytics, development, and advertising purposes.

6. Account Deletion

• Users may delete their accounts at any time through the Application.
• Upon account deletion, personal profile data will be erased from active systems.
• However, log records and data required by law may continue to be stored.

7. Limitation of Liability

• BitapSocial does not guarantee that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• Users agree that BitapSocial shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Application.

8. Account Termination

BitapSocial reserves the right to suspend or terminate any User’s account at any time, with or without cause or prior notice.

9. Modifications to the Agreement

BitapSocial may update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will take effect once published within the Application. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

• For users located in Turkey, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, and disputes shall be settled in Istanbul (Anadolu) courts.
• For international users, local laws may apply, but the User also agrees to comply with these Terms when using the Application.

11. Consent & Acknowledgement

By checking the “I have read and agree” box, the User expressly acknowledges and agrees that:

• They are fully responsible for all content they post.
• Their personal data may be processed as described in this Agreement.
• IP, device, and access logs may be retained in the future for legal compliance.
• Their content may be stored, displayed, modified, or removed by BitapSocial.
• Their data may be processed on servers inside or outside their country of residence.
• BitapSocial shall not be held liable for damages resulting from use of the Application.
